This course is here because many talented creators, like yourself, haven’t been able to get their foot in the door of a postgrad ad school. Which means we're all missing out. Our industry is better when it’s filled with creatives with different perspectives and diverse ideas; so this is a chance to create a new way forward in the industry, together.

What you will learn

The concept—the idea—is crucial. No effective advertising or design exists when there is nothing to say or no idea behind it. Learning how to practice and improve your conceptual thinking will be your endless goal as a creative. It is our most essential skill.

Throughout this ten-week course we will work in a variety of mediums, but always focusing on what really matters—a big idea. A big idea is a universal truth told in the most unexpected way. A big idea evokes some emotion or action out of viewers. And to come up with big ideas, we will be using our intuition, curiosity, spontaneity, personal experience, and lateral thinking.

Beginning February 2nd, 2021 highly talented individuals from diverse backgrounds with unique skill sets who don’t have advertising portfolio-school training will participate in a free, 10-week session with Droga5 New York.

All sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams on Tuesday evenings from 6:30–8:30 p.m. EST. The two-hour workshops, led by top Droga5 creatives, will be divided between instruction and review of weekly portfolio-building assignments.
